I'm a 20-year-old college student majoring in English. I've been consistently writing of my own free will for a little over a year. I write short stories and poems of all genres. I'm the editor of a weekly newsletter devoted to fantasy (the elves and dragons kind), which goes out to about 15,000 subscribers. In high school, I won a Journalist of the Year award, presented by a local newspaper. (Basically, they asked each journalism teacher from the local high schools which student they liked the best and based the award on that, so I'm not sure if that really counts. But, hey, it's a plaque, and it's kind of neat looking, so I'm happy.) I've taken a creative writing course at a community college. I've read a few books on how to write. I've read thousands of poems and stories posted on various writing sites. And that's just about the extent of my education and experience in writing. I love writing, and I look forward to participating in this site. |
