Responded to a disturbance call at the following address:
1134 nowhereville, ast 56789
The detail of the call was an 'unconfirmed rotting smell coming from Apartment A' as reported by an anonymous person(s). There was no answer when the door was knocked on. Upon gaining entry into the apartment (from the maintenance staff) it was determined that this was in fact where the 'rotting smell' was coming from - it was overwhelming and exit from the apartment was necessary and application of odor-retardant paste was implemented. After a short search of the premises, a body was discovered in the bathtub of the bathroom. After a quick inspection, the (unconfirmed) determination was made by myself as death by loss of blood. Both wrists were cut and the majority of the blood was assumed to have drained in the open drain of the bathtub. Positive ID of the body has been achieved through rental records and a valid drivers license found in the apartment and will not be released to the public. Neither neighbors nor friends stepped forward at time of visit to the apartment to offer any explanation as to the reason for the (assumed) suicide. Actual determination of the situation is pending an autopsy. As the subject was over 18, no family members have been contacted. To this date, no people have stepped forward to shed light on any aspect of this case.
Case [1134] Status - Open.
Sgt. Miller, PD - 113.4
