"this is forever until we part" by theusedpoet (2005-06-22.02) |
facing the clock-
there's no more time for denying.
for crying. pleading.
my knees are getting too dusty
and my heart-
barely beating.
i can't grab at your pant leg-
fall at your fett,
my soul can only be shattered
into so many pieces
before i give up.
Before my mind swoops in
and defeats the battle of my heart-
who can survive all the bleeding?
Quietness settles in,
slowly you walk away
and my stubborness teaches me to smile again
slowly the cigarette smoke
doesn't burn,
but cures this pitiful love of ours.
And yet as i learn to walk again
without a limp.
my eyes are lifted
and i'm forced to remember
the gentle fierceness of our love-
of our passion.
Walking without tears,
i stare into the sunset
and wonder just how long you've been waiting there,
loving me
without all the agony and pleading.
loving me
without question or excuse
and as i lift my head to smile
i wonder how long i've dreamt of you
and known
that this is forever until we part. |
