"wait"
by theusedpoet (2005-02-22.04)
i get up. stretch. close the door. the anticipation of nothingness is killing me.

standing by the window. the world unfolds. highways. dim city lights. the hills surrounding this valley covered in icing sugar.
quiet my mind appears to be. but i can see out. i can hear your quiet murmers. are they just yours?
at a time when reflection is heavily weighted, i wonder if i've seen all i've wanted to seen. done all that i could've done. i turn back to the inside world with a shudder not caused by the coldness of the window and reflection of winter.
there's always been nothing good enough for me to stay. and as i look onto the bear walls and covered floor i wonder just how long it'll take for me to learn how to say
