driving north
a song softly played on the radio
and sumhow reminded me
of you.
hearbreak and uneven circumstances.
the poor mouse
never had a chance.
you said
it was better this way.
with casual hellos
and brief stopping moments
passings on the highway
where we'd never remember
each others name
just the face
and how reality
bruised us.
you were never one
for fighting.
i guess you
weren't
passionate enough
and i was always
held down
by strings. |
