"i reach out"
by theusedpoet (2005-06-22.01)
i reach out
into the night-
the darkness cloaks my fingers
and you are lost
to me.

Raindrops fall onto deaf ears
and yet the stars
are gleaming-
are taunting
the stories of you and i.

you are lost to me.

Still, When i turn over in bed
i can feel the
impression
of where you used to lie.

i wonder
who you're lieing to now.

it was always your way
but, i guess when
you're beautiful
there just aren't any excuses.

There aren't any reasons
to why i want you
this way

open and bleeding
the knife comforts but doesn't lead
i often wonder why
you taught me this way

To reach,
to need the coolness
that is you
that is this.
